SUBJECT: HLT-514 Helicopter Landing Trainer

This describes installation of the HLT-514 package with landable surface for FS 2004.

The HLT-514 is a Helicopter Landing Trainer used by various services to practice shipboard landings. It and this model operates at the Pensacola Naval Air Station NAS, Florida Airport ID KNPA.

Installation Instructions:

Unzip the files to a temp location. You should have a folder which you install as follows:

1. HLT-514P Folder containing SCENERY and TEXTURES Folders: This is the HLT scenery object, landable area, and textures.
1.1 Place the HLT-514P folder into the ...Flight Simulator 9Addon Scenery folder.
1.2 Use the Add Scenery feature in MSFS, as usual.

2. Restart MSFS if you had it running.
2.1 The landable area includes an ICAO designation of ZHLT. So, you can go directly to the HLTs flight deck by entering ZHLT in the Airport ID of the Select Location option under Create a Flight.

IMPORTANT NOTE

YOU MAY NEED TO TURN OFF Crash Detection for landings or you will get a crash upon landing. Im still trying to figure out why this is occuring.

That should do it. Oh yea, be sure to restart flight sim for the scenery file to take effect.

NOTE: To find the ship from NAS Pensacola, take off and come to 080 -- the ship is in the bay area.
Or, use ZHLT in the Airport ID -- which should put you right on the flight deck.

P.S. It is a helicopter landing trainer. We have gotten a couple of fixed wings to land on it, but you better have good brakes. ;^

This is considered freeware and can be shared with fellow flight simmers AT NO COST.
